Into the Wild

Monday, March 23, 2015

Hey Beautiful people! Happy Monday!! Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and feels refreshed for a new week. Just wanted to share a quick outfit post with you all. You all know my love for statement pieces and this outfit definitely is a statement itself. From the bold statement necklace, to my tribal print pants I was definitely feeling all types of "afrocentric" lol.

What I loved most about this look is my necklace. The piece reminds me of the necklace Esosa Edosomwan wore in a few episodes of An African City. For those unfamiliar with the web based series, An African City is a Ghanaian equivalent of Sex and the City that airs on Youtube. The series follows the lives of five single young women of African descent who have recently resettled in Accra, Ghana after living aboard for most of their lives.

I found out about the series earlier last year thanks to Brenda of Can Never Be a Skinny Bish interview with Ms. Esosa (feel free to check out that interview here). If you haven't got hip to the show yet make sure you do, especially before season two begins. Since this look has two bold pieces I toned it down with simple items, ie my turtle neck & black flats & that completed the look. My mother actually sells this necklace so if anyone is interested in purchasing this piece or African pieces in general she will have a website coming soon so I will definitely keep you all posted on that! Welp till next post! :)
