Blue Dream

Hey beautiful people! Happy Hump day! Hope everyone is having a great week so far! So for those who didn't know I traveled to the Dominican Republic last week for a week long vacation. There's only one word to sum up my experience...pure bliss!!! From the culture, to the people, to the whole atmosphere, it was nothing short of amazing. What made it even more amazing was that our trip was all inclusive (Thank God for Groupon deals lol) so everything from food to drinks was taken care of for us. The only thing that we had to spend money on were the excursions we did and of course spending money for souvenirs. I could go on & on about how great the vacation was but I think the pictures will speak for itself, so as my favorite Youtuber Patricia  Bright always says "Grab a cup a tea.." cause this is going to be a lengthy post lol. I hope you all enjoy the pics. Make sure to check out my lookbook now up on my Youtube channel as well. Now on the pics....

Day 1

Day one consisted of settling into our resort. We stayed at Natura Park resort which was such a beautiful accommodation! I loved the nature feel of the resort offered. There's was beautiful wildlife roaming everywhere, from peacocks to flamingos. The resort was also near the beach so once we settled in we hung out at the beach, gobbled up some delicious burgers, & discussed our plans for the week.

Day 2

On our second day we chilled at the pool and laid out on beach. It was a nice relaxing day and much needed for the next day we had ahead.

Day 3

So now you can see why we wanted to be well rested for the next day lol. Day three consisted of our first excursion of the trip. We went on the dune buggy/ATV excursion which consisted of us exploring parts of Punta Cana and learning a little about the Dominican culture. We each took turns operating the buggy which was a lot of fun. During the excursion we stopped at three different locations. The first stop was at a coca factory where they showed use how they make a variety of different natural products such as coconut oil, coffee beans, coca, and the ever so popular mama juana. Next we stopped at a cave where people were able to swim for a little. The water was 25 feet deep so us non-swimmers gladly looked from the sidelines lol. After the cave we stopped at Macao beach which was must needed. We all got soo dirty from the dust from the ride but we all really enjoyed. A lot of the scenery reminded me of Ghana. It was very nostalgic and nice to see how much African culture is present in the Dominican. It is apparent to see that a lot of Dominicans come from African desent. The artwork, food, and music definitely have African influence as well.

Day 4

Day four consisted of our second excursion which was a trip to the beautiful Saona Island. During the first part of the tour we took a speed boat to a natural swimming pool. Based on the pics you can see how heavenly it was. The water was so crystal clear & blue! It was such a sight to see. Once we got there we had to jump from the speed boat into the water. That idea kind of scared me since the water was waste deep. Thought I would sprain my ankle or something when I jumped in lol. I went for it anyway and was fine. After spending about 30 minutes there we headed to Saona Island. We were there for majority of the tour and it was pure bliss. The water was so clear and warm. It was definitely an experience I will never forget. After our time on Saona Island was complete we headed back to our destination on a catamaran. We enjoyed our journey back with some marenga music and dancing on the boat.
Day 5

On day five we decided to head back to Macao beach to enjoy a day filled with fun in the sun! The beach is absolutely beautiful and almost everyone out there is trying to hustle lol Whither they're trying to sell you beach chairs or asking if you want to take pictures with a parrot, someone will come up to you trying to sell you something. Gotta commend their hustle! We were later treated to a delicious lunch before heading back to the resort.

Day 6

On day six I spent the morning re-shooting some looks I wore during the week that I didn't get a chance to take pictures in. We then checked out the gift shop and picked up a few goodies then prepared to checkout afterwards. I truly enjoyed every minute of our trip and definitely would love to visit again. Hope you all enjoyed my vacation diary! Till next post!
